Drafter History: Bryan Sewell
Started his own business after 20 plus years of CAD drafting for other companies. When the pandemic hit, he finally figured now is the time to step out on his own!
First started CAD drafting while in high school in the early 90's. Then in 1996, he went into the United States Marine Corps for drafting and surveying where his drafting was mainly used for a combat engineer's construction platoon at Camp Pendleton, CA. While in the Marine Corps, he started doing side work for Safway Formworks in City of Industry, CA. Here he helped the architects with panel layouts for concrete construction. Then in 2000, he started working for a couple of different civil engineers; doing golf course lay outs as well as assisting with train track grading plans outside of Albany, NY. Next in 2001, started working as a temp for a subcontractor at General Electric, doing office cubical layouts at the Schenectady plant.
Shortly after, he began working at a millwork company in Albany, NY as a temp. After the temp position ended in early 2003, he decided to move to NC and learn housing design, estimating, and construction layout. Here he began designing homes for a local contractor until the company was sold.
In 2004, a very high end casework company from Central NJ offered him a position as their drafter and assistant estimator. For 15 years, he learned the ins and outs of the casework industry from some of the best in the industry. Then in 2019, he decided to try his hands at the trade show industry. Here he learned light weight tradeshow construction as well as WoodWOP & Router-CIM G-Coding for both the HoMag CNC router and the Komo CNC router machines.
